We are using our Planets resources in an extremely selfish and damaging way. In the West we are used to a certain way of life, thinking, quite wrongly, that to "go green" will change all of that. We have the impression that we have to become some kind of "New Age" hippy, wear old jumpers with holes in, drive a wreck of a car and use a converted oil drum as a heater.
This is far from the modern day reality.
In a series of interactive TV programmes filmed on site we shall show how wrong this is.
Our project is to demonstrate how we can change our way of life without changing our lifestyle. We must face the reality that pensions in Europe are problematic with more and more active retirees having their incomes seriously reduced. Our TV series will show how those on a low future income may live a comfortable and stress free life.
It will contain serious information, presented in a "state of the art" light hearted and interesting way.

This is a brief synopsis of the Project, for more details click on each heading.
To build a hamlet of 12 self sustaining houses, whose inhabitants are experts in their fields. Their work plans, discussions and implementation will be recorded on video. The video output will be edited into a series of informative and educational TV programmes.The hamlet will be self sustaining in power, heating, waste, water, alternative fuels and food. Land with a lake (40 million Ltrs. of water) is at the moment being assessed in France (Nr Poitier). Houses from renewable sources will be built around the lake. An Iron Age thatched structure will also be constructed, using local experts, as technology comparison and as reception center. We aim to be at least 90% self sufficient in food and 110% in energy by the end of the 1st year. Minimum carbon emissions, renewable resources. This will be the anchor programme of 52 episodes for an interactive TV video, Internet channel. Theme "Environment and related technologies." Internet TV has world coverage unlike the conventional alternative. The transmission, using Solar Power, will come from our Hamlet. English/French language. The weekly programme will start with the selection of the terrain. The transmissions will be informative but fun.
The Environmentally aware of all age groups (More and more). Educational facilities, Schools etc. Our project is aimed to assist the actively retired, the low income and “third world” in leading a healthier, fuller, safer, more economical and environmentally friendly life.
The project will continue following the 1 years transmission as a "stand alone" educational center and will be revisited. Once the Hamlet is fully tested and running the plans and methods will be made available free of charge on the Internet to encourage others throughout the world to live in a similar way. Our team will be available to adapt our scheme to other environments and locations
Environment and EnergyAs the areas we are looking at have high concentrations of wild life we will demonstrate how we can live side by side without destroying their habitat.
Lead sponsor to choose two students per month to live and work at project center.
As Poitiers is such a historical area (the oldest cave paintings were found not far from here) there will be a focus on ancient technologies and their place in today's world.
We are, after all, only temporary guardians of this Planet and not the owners.
Let us look after it on our watch and not go the same way as the Dodo.
